Embroidered Valance

Embroidered valance for bench or bed, meant to drape in front of bed , covering the space between the mattress and the floor. Top half meant to be tucked in. The bottom half has a row of eleven coats of arm within a leafy border. Worked in a raised Rhodian crosss stitch on heavy linen.The thick floss thread and loose stitch contribute to a luxuriant shiny effect.
