Cretan embroidery is easily identifiable for its feather stitch, unlike any other Greek Isles needle work. The yarn used is uncoiled and the effect is similar to herringbone stitch with a braid like line in the center of the motif. This table runner has floral field and a border of meandering vines. As for the colors, one suspects that they are faded though the fade is very even.
