Wooden Buddha Panels
19th c. Entry gate doors. This appealing pair of doors are enhanced by the wonderful faded wood patinas. The images are of Arhats or those that have gained insight into the nature of existence, surrounded by gold leafed decorative motifs. The doors could represent the glistening path of the “perfected person”.

This pair of wooden Buddha panels are large examples of gilt work coming out of Thailand. The panels mirror each other yet show small differences.
