Dogon Ladder

The Dogon people live in southeastern Mali and Burkina Faso. In a sea of Muslims, they managed to adhere to their ancestral religion and traditions. Their ladders are used to access the awnings in front of their huts where they dry crops. They are carved out of one piece and their use results in highly patinated surfaces on the step side coupled with weather related distress overall.Mounted on a metal stand.
