Ravi Varma Print
A scene from Hindu mythology depicting Vishnu and two consorts riding Garuda, a bird deity. Ravi Varma (1848-1906) is considered the father of Indian popular art. Working out of Bombay, Varma used European print methods and presses, publishing millions of copies of his famous paintings. His prints reached across the then fragmented Indian society.
