This Syrian Hamam robe falls in line with a Syrian urban tradition of quilting for women’s apparel. It is made of pure white cotton. The robe is completely stitched with a design of zigzags, chevrons and other geometric motifs. This sort of quilting technique is called trapunto and is of European origin.
