Fragment of an Ottoman embroidery. The silk ground is worked with silk , metallic thread and metallic ribbon in a dense scheme of floral bouquets tied with ribbons and surrounded by more flowers and branches. The craftsmanship is of the highest order indicating that the work was done by professional embroiderers in an urban workshop.
