Silk Nakshe Panel

Nakshe in Parsee means embroidery. Nakshe work, originating in Isfahan, was done in squares that were used as legging material for women s trousers. The design of intricate pattern is always done in diagonal parallel bands filled with small flowers.The embroidery technique is usually in counted stitch done with coiled silk and it produces a very sturdy material strong to sustain usage. This rather large nakshe has a soft green palette and is done with straight stitches.
