Ottoman Velvet with Metallic Embroidery
This Ottoman velvet with metallic embroidery was made in Turkey in the 19th century.
The piling of the velvet foundation has deteriorated, but the metallic embroidery still looks fresh. The metallic embroidery is mostly in floral motifs and meandering vines with grapes. Both ends have an extra border with stylized cartouches.
