Womans belt. Part of a wedding or ceremonial ensemble.A stiff silk and metal brocade with some of the dyeing achieved in an ikat process, i.e.the yarn gets tie-dyed before being woven.These belts were woven in the Fez and Tetouan region and greatly influenced by Moorish designs.
