Mao Woven Propoganda (Mao)

Mao Zedong (1893-1976) was the first communist leader of China and following the revolution served as the party chairman from 1949 till his death in 1976. Memorabilia from this period of time, or the “red era” (1921-1976) is referred to as “red relics,” and are prized by collectors. While some may see these pieces as just decor, they are seen by enthusiasts as a way to remember the past, recognize mistakes, and move forward.

The bottom of the banner roughly translates to “The working class must lead everything – the working class on the political stage in the superstructure.” On the bottom right, it says where it was made, Hangzhou.
