Large Waziri Shawl

Waziristan is in the Northwest province of Pakistan, a remote and tribal area bordering Afghanistan. The local weaving tradition combines silk and cotton in striped design. The main ground is usually dark indigo cotton while the silk provides the bright accents. Sometimes there is also some embroidery. Waziri shawls are worn by men.
