Laotian Ceremonial Hanging
A vertical panel with a central structure of a stupa flanked by rows of similar but smaller stupas, all decorated with protective Naga tiles. The typical multitude of diamond shapes as a design element is missing, still the drawing is unmistakably Laotian .Woven in a muted palette of pastels with supplementary silk wefts against a deep red foundation of mixed silk and cotton.
