Kalimkari

Kalamkaris are cotton textiles from Western India that are made with a combination of block printing and hand painting. Their origin is Iran but later and better quality production was primarily in India.

This kalimkari of fine cotton has six colors with a very precise registry and some painted details. The design has a large field of small booths with large botehs at four corners. Both ends have four large botehs with more narrow borders. Featured throughout are images of birds, flowers and leaves.
