Indian Portrait on silk satin

This silk satin printed portrait shows ‘The Maharajah of Baroda’ with a green turban and yellow feather in the center. He is wearing a blue military uniform with green, yellow, and white jewels around his neck. Surrounding him are multiple borders containing flowers, lines, and dots mainly in red, black, and blue.

On the back of the piece there is a label with the following printed, ‘These Pictures will be found most decorative for tea cosies, centres of cushion covers, and similar articles that help to make the home beautiful. To remove the paper on the back of the Satin, separate at the corner, and pull gently’. The silk satin print is paper backed.
