Gujarati Skirt Panel

Complete skirt panel from Gujarat. The vibrantly colored emboidery is complemented by the deep indigo color of the satin silk on which it is done and which peeks through the dense embroidery to join the palette.The design is horizontal along the bottom edge and comprises of a numerous borders of various widths all filled with stylized pinwheel flowers. The embroidery is unusually done with thick floss silk in loose stitching so that the surface is luxuriously reflective.
