Glass and Lapis Necklace

11th c  Chinese beads with deep blue Afghan Lapis Lazuli bead. This necklace has cross cultural references that can indicate wealth, rank and functions as trade value as well.  Especially significant are the dark green Chinese glass beads that took advantage of the similarities between glass and highly prized jade.
