Embroidered Gauze Robe

This embroidered gauze robe is a formal men’s summer robe is from the early 20th century. It features silk gauze fabric, a front overflap closing to the right, and tapered sleeves ending with flared cuffs. The design is a celestial landscape with nine five-clawed, two-horned dragons, water, mountains, birds, , gold and black edging, Li-Shui stripes, all executed on purple gauze ground.
