Dragon and Phoenix Panel

The dragon and phoenix (fenghuang) are two important symbols in Chinese culture. The dragon brings strength, power, and good luck, while the phoenix brings grace and high virtue. The dragon represents masculinity, and the phoenix represents femininity, and together they create balance. There are six dragons and two phoenixes amid cloud bands and above celestiallandscape. The entire piece is framed with a gold border.

This piece is silk woven with the brocading of metallic threads done in a continuous supplementary weft.
