Chinese Embroidered Stole

Antique Chinese silk embroidered stole made for export. It is heavily embroidered at each end with blooming roses. The long edges have meandering vines with smaller flowers and smaller flowers yet in a scatter scheme throughout the main center field.  Long fringes at both ends.

Double sided satin stitch embroidery. The shading to the green areas is achieved not by different color embroidery yarn but by the direction of the stitching.

This stole feature exquisite embroidery in subdued colors that appear to not have faded.
