Brass Cast Ganesha
This brass cast Ganesha was made in India in the late 18th century or the early 19th century. Ganesha is the Hindu god of wisdom and the remover of obstacles. He is depicted different ways in different periods and by different religious groups, but he is always shown with an elephant head and a large belly. In this cast he is show seated on a lotus leaf throne atop a mouse.
