Anatolian Fiber Mat

Prayer mat woven from a thick, coarse vegetable fiber resembling straw. Most fiber of natural color and the design is executed with fiber dyed blue, orange,purple, green and red .The simple, tribal design is of three columns of ram s horns. Two similar mats are illustrated in ” Anatolian Killims” the Caroline & H. McCoy Jones collection. Sotheby Publication.Page 259. The collection is now at The Fine Art Museum of San Francisco and considered to be the finest collection of Anatolian killims in the world.
