Persian Coat
The coat is made of brocade with an overall boteh pattern on a pale mustard yellow ground. The front opening is edged in metallic embroidery with silver brocade paneled bands on the front collar.
Most likely worn as an honorific garment for a special occasion. The material’s color and patterns were always carefully selected for the audience and occasion.
This brocade is a richly decorative shuttle-woven fabric with richly colored silk threads.
