Military Rank Badge

This military rank badge is of the fifth rank, featuring a bear facing to the left. The badge is comprised of two halves which indicates that it was worn on the front of a surcoat with a center front opening. Another badge which is not split in two would be worn on the back. The work is done with couched metallic thread of two tones with turquoise silk in the bears eyes, the solar disk of coral beads.The bear is perched on rocks above waves and against a sky with cloudbands and auspicious symbols. Lined with white cotton.
