Phulkari Fragment / Pillowcase

A phulkari fragment made into a pillow sleeve.  Phulkari are  shawls made out of cotton and embroidered with silk.

In this fragment the design which seems like a diamond field is actually of abstracted  trees.  Like all pulkaris it is executed in silk floss that was stitched from the back and shows  the embroidery on the front as much as possible.
